We provide individualised training courses for teaching staff, venue technicians and maintenance staff.

Technical teacher training

 

Technical theatre courses to assist in the delivery of GCSE technical drama. Courses include teaching, demonstrations, discussions and practical activities including sessions on:

  • Why do we light? Where there is light there is shadow.
  • Sources of light and how we control the light source.
  • How light can be manipulated to create different effects.
  • What is white light?
  • How to use the lighting desk
  • Training certificate provided on completion

Venue technicians and maintenance staff training

We provide training on how to look after the equipment, undertake basic repairs and provide additional training in PAT testing this specialised equipment.

Training overview includes:

  • Why do we need to PAT test
  • Who is responsible / a risk based approach / frequency of test and inspection
  • What appliances should be tested / different classes of appliances (focusing on theatre lighting equipment)
  • What tests need to carried out / test process
  • Interpreting the results / record keeping
  • Practical session – venues theatre lighting equipment and accessories
  • Training certificate provided on completion
  • Other courses – we are happy to deliver courses on a 1-2-1 or a group basis or please contact us to tailor a course to your specific requirements
