RIBA Award School Building
We have just completed a week-long electrical condition inspection on the entertainment systems at Bideford College. Bideford College was a £55 million new-build part of the ‘Building Schools for the Future’ initiative which was completed in 2011 and has achieved a Civic Building Award and; a RIBA Award. The venues include the Devon Hall with associated
dance studio that doubles up as a stage, two large drama studios, the Winter Gardens, TV studio and Faraday Lecture Theatre. This is the first time it has been inspected and unfortunately, we have uncovered some issues from the original installation. However, it is one of the most fantastic school buildings in the country and a pleasure to work in.
